I'm almost decided on a Backwoods Party but I'm a little concerned that a full brisket won't fit on the Party racks. Do any of you Party owners do full packers or just flats?

I know 12 lb packers will fit on a rack in the Party without problem.

You will have no problems putting packers on the party. You may have to turn some from corner to corner on the racks but I have also cooked 12-14 pound packers.

FYI - try a flat also. The party does a wonderful job.

Like they have already said corner to corner 12-14 lbs just fits and remember that they will shrink.

Get you one of those discounted Gurus too (or the digiQII).

I really like my BWS Party. A couple of my buddies have bigger BWS, but I find the portability of my Party to be so convenient. It has plenty of space for tons of meat.

I would get a larger unit to do packers on if money is available. I have done them on my Fatboy and felt crowded. I can put two per shelf ok but if they are thick I need to take out every other shelf so they do not touch the shelf above. Forget about putting them back in the cooker after wrapping with all the shelves in. I have not used a Party but I cannot see how it would be any better for packers.

Doesn't the Fatboy have 6 inches between racks? Or did you get extra sliders? 6 inches between racks should be plenty of room for air space. The Party only has 4" of space and packers fit.

I think the Fatboy racks are about 4 1/2 inches apart. I've had a 15 pounder and a 13 pounder on one rack with a rack above it. The big one was pretty thick out of the cryo, but after some of my usual trimming of the fat it fit fine.

Shouldn't be a problem...what do you think, 9 whole packers with some room for a sausage or two? There there's the new extension racks I'm planning! :wink:

Here are 4 full packers ranging from 15 - 12 pounds in my Party. Could of fit one more if needed.

I guess I lied! Was going through the camera and found a couple pics before I took the briskets off, no pics sliced though

I am extremely happy with my party and the food it produces. It gets labeled as a pork cooker, but it produces some mighty fine Texas briskets too!
