Guru probe questions

Has anyone found a alternate less expensive source for Guru probes? What type of thermocouple is used by Guru? Can you use a generic type K or other be used?

Are you loooking for longer cables or are yours toast? I'm on my third year year with the cables that came with my Guru. I ordered the 10 ft cables when I orderded mine, have not had a bit of trouble with them yet.

No the length is not a problem. I want to see if I can find an alternate supplier than Guru.

I don't know if it is a standard cable or if it proprietary to Guru. If you knew who their vendor was you might be able to buy them.
