Using Wood Chunks

I have read a lot of discussions around the type of charcoal on this site. I have not seen anything about using wood. Are you able to use wood chunks with this smoker? I was hoping I would be able to put the chunks on top of the lit coals. If so, is there any difficulties I should know about? Thanks.

Yes you can use wood chunks. I put chunks on the coals, using some tongs, without any difficulties. I recommend only using a few chunks at a time. When the smoke dies down you can add a few more. As others have stated many times be careful not to over-smoke!
