The 1 month report

Postby BradinNH » Wed Jan 19, 2011 2:43 pm

I have had my Backwoods Party now for about a month and have been smoking up a storm! So far, I have smoked some salmon, cheese, the Christmas ham, turkey breast, chicken halves, home made sausage, beef jerky, and just did some amazing baby backs for a friend's party. Aside from one minor issue, which was entirely my fault, the smoker has been awesome! I am so happy with my purchase! The BBQ Guru really helps a lot too.

One question I have for you veterans who like to mop your ribs - is there any way to do so without all the drippings runing down the firebox door? I suppose I could slide the rack out and hold a platter underneath while I mop, but figured I'd see if there were any other suggestions. Happy smoking!

Open your firebox door and put a piece of tin foil across it and then close it up on the foil when you get ready to mop or glaze your meat. Easy Peasy

I don't mop my ribs, but I use a product called pig mats to soak up any drippings when I move meats or pull them out.
