New Fatboy in St. Louis

Not me, the cooker! ;-) OK, me and the cooker!

My name is Michael True, I am a 42 year old father of three living in the burbs of St. Louis. Got interested in smoking low and slow a couple of years ago and started competing this May. I have completed ten comps this freshmen year and am looking to hit the ground running next year with my Fatboy addition to my 2011 season.

Looks very familiar. Wish I had 180* opening doors. I didn't even know that was an option.

I was very surprised to find out there are a lot of options that are not advertised on the BWS website, but then again there is a lot of basic information missing as well. However, working with the Missouri BWS dealer, Ron Kaup, I learned about quite a few non-advertised options before placing an order. I recommend him highly and will work with him again.

Those are good looking ribs. I have found that the better my ribs get the less sauce I need on them. :D

Thanks. Yeah, my family likes our ribs with dry rub only or just a few drops of sauce after the fact. I only glaze at KCBS comps. Plan on taking this fatboy on the road for the 2011 season.

My experience was quite different, so we'll just leave it at that. Drove 5 hrs round trip to get mine and don't regret it a bit.

Hey there Elliot,

Next week, I am starting a square tube cart on 10" casters with a folding stainless side table and a lot of little details like a sheltered mount for my stoker and wireless router, cable management guides, room for a 3-5 gallon bucket with a water drain downspout mod, strap tie-downs and bumpers on the corners to keep from beating up my toy hauler.

Will post more pictures once done. I will be rolling her out for the Freeze-Que in January. ;-)

Got a start on the cart this weekend. Got the framework almost complete. Folding side table, 10" casters and finishing details next weekend.

A start ...

Thanks for the compliments Rick and Dan. It is a work in progress. I will keep the pictures rolling until I have a completed comp setup.
